How can I get an instant loan?

You need an Android phone and a BVN. That's all! Download the FairMoney app from the Google Play Store. Sign up with the phone number linked to your BVN, answer a few questions and confirm your identity to receive a loan offer. If you accept it, you will receive your loan instantly in your preferred bank account!

What makes FairMoney different from other lenders?

Do I need documents or a collateral?

No document, no collateral! You will only need to share your BVN details during the loan application and connect your card or bank account to authorize us to debit your account for the repayment.

Why was my loan application rejected?

Apologies on that, you can apply again in a few days! It might be for different reasons: - Not enough information found on the phone: You should increase your phone usage (Calls/SMS) to be eligible. - We decided not to give you a credit at this time after analyzing your profile. Keep using your bank account with healthy revenues to get a loan soon.

How can I repay?

Click on the "Repay" button in the app to pay via card or bank transfer

How do I check my account balance and payment date?

Please log in in the app, you will find your customized dashboard that contains your credit status and/or all the details concerning your current balance.

How does auto-debit work?

- Auto-debit allows you to repay your FairMoney loan easily without taking care of it! - Your bank will ask you to authorize FairMoney to debit your account at the repayment date.

How do I pay via card?

Select the “Debit/Credit Card” option when repaying your loan and enter your card details. If you don’t have a card, please contact your bank.

What happens if I don't pay back?

We are humans and understand that unexpected and unforeseen situations may occur. However, we do not reschedule payment dates, you should take a loan only if you have the capacity to repay it to avoid: - Late fees - Suspension of your FairMoney account - Report to national credit bureaus as required by law (CRC, First Central)

Can I extend my loan duration?

Yes! Please go to "Manage loan" in the app to see extension offers (if you have one available). If you see no loan extension offer on your dashboard, please note that we are working on making it available for you.

Can I trust FairMoney with my identity and bank account details?

FairMoney is a Nigerian company with headquarters in Europe. We comply with European data security standards. FairMoney will never sell the information you shared to third parties.

Why do you request permissions on my phone when installing the FairMoney app?

FairMoney collect and processes securely data from your phone (SMS, device details, location, phonebook) to make a lending decision. This data is necessary for us to approve your loan in real-time without asking you for cumbersome paperwork.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Send an email to help@fairmoney.ng to get the details of your loan and your repayment date. You can also sign in from another phone using your phone number and password

Is my money safe with FairSave?

Absolutely! Your FairSave is as secure as your FairMoney bank account. All transactions and account management are handled using 256-bit HTTPS SSL encryption. We are licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and all deposits are insured by NDIC.

What is the difference between your FairMoney bank account and FairSave?

The main difference is that you earn money daily when you keep money in your FairSave, unlike your regular FairMoney account which would be your current account. The moment you credit your FairSave, you start earning money!

How much interest do I earn with FairSave?

You earn an effective annualized interest rate of 10% on whatever amount you have deposited in your FairSave.

When do I get the interest posted to my FairSave?

Interest is paid daily. Even though the interest on your FairSave is per annum, you are credited with the interest accrued on funds in your FairSave daily!

How is the interest calculated?

You effectively earn 10% interest annually. However, this is posted daily i.e, if you hold N100,000 for 365 days in your FairSave, you will end up with N110,000. Once you start accruing daily interest on your FairSave, you will be able to see clearly how much interest you are earning daily. The interest will be given on the standing balance of your FairSave.

What is Withholding Tax and how does it affect interest earned?

All interest earned in FairSave is subject to 10% withholding tax, which can be seen and tracked in the transaction history of the app. This is deducted directly from interest earned - no action is needed on your behalf.

Can I save automatically to FairSave from my FairMoney account?

For now, to fund your FairSave, you need to move funds from your FairMoney bank account balance into your FairSave.

How do I start saving?

Saving is easy with FairSave! All you need to do is click on the “Enter FairSave” button when you open your FairSave and input how much you want to save. The money will be moved from your FairMoney bank account into your FairSave. If your FairMoney bank account is not sufficiently funded, you will be prompted to add money to your FairMoney bank account to continue.

Can I fund my FairSave through another bank account?

No, you can only fund your FairSave through your FairMoney bank account. You can fund your FairMoney bank account by going to your FairMoney app and tapping, "Fund account."

When can I withdraw my savings?

You can withdraw from your FairSave anytime, no strings attached.

How do I withdraw from my Fairsave?

To withdraw from your FairSave: Click on the “Withdraw” button in your FairSave, input how much you want to withdraw, and click on continue. The amount inputted will be moved from your FairSave into your FairMoney bank account.

Can I withdraw to any bank account?

No, you can only withdraw to your FairMoney bank account. However, you can always transfer money from your FairMoney bank account to another bank account for free (you have 30 free transfers monthly).

Is there a limit to how much I can save in my FairSave?

The limit on how much you can save in your Fairsave is dependent on your bank account level. The higher your bank account level, the more you can save in FairSave. To increase your level, please contact our support team at help@fairmoney.ng.

How do I get FairSave on my FairMoney App?

FairSave will be available from version 8.70.0 of the FairMoney app. However, it is currently rolled out to customers who applied to be on the FairSave waitlist. Do not worry If you don’t have this feature yet on your FairMoney app, as we will be making it available to you very soon, and we will be sure to notify you when we do!

Why am I not seeing any interest posted in my FairSave?

Earned interests below 0.01 Naira will not be displayed on the app. This, however, does not mean that your interest is not being accrued, it may just take a while before it is visible to you on the app.

What is FairLock?

FairLock is FairMoney’s fixed-term deposit product, where you can securely lock funds for a duration of time and earn interest on the funds. The funds and interest earned are automatically paid out once the term is completed.

What interest rate is offered with FairLock?

We offer several FairLock plans, with different interest rates and term lengths. Interest rates can vary between 11 - 18% per annum, depending on the term length. You are free to choose the combination of term length and interest rate that best suits you.

Are there any fees or charges associated with FairLock?

There are no fees or charges to use FairLock. It’s completely free!

How can I create my FairLock fixed deposit?

First things first, you’ll need to have some funds in your FairSave balance. If you don’t yet, you can easily do so by transferring money via your FairMoney bank account. Once you have funds in FairSave, simply navigate to FairLock Home, tap the “Create a deposit” button, input the amount you’d like to lock, and confirm. This will securely lock your funds in FairLock.

How can I check how much time is left in my FairLock fixed deposit?

You can always check your ongoing plans on FairLock Home. Each plan tells you how many days are remaining and whether it is ready to withdraw. Tapping on each plan on FairLock Home takes you to your Plan Details Page, where you can read more about the time remaining, the exact date you can withdraw, and the interest you will earn once you complete the term.

How do I access my interest earned on FairLock?

Once your term is completed, the principal amount plus interest earned will be paid into your FairSave account. From there, you are free to use your interest however you wish!

How can I see how much interest I’ve earned per plan?

Simply tap on each plan and navigate to the Plan Details Page. We calculate the interest earned upon plan completion for you. You can also tap on the Interest Overview component below the FairLock balance bar to see the breakdown of interest on your ongoing plans.

When can I withdraw my FairLock fixed deposit?

Your FairLock fixed deposit will be withdrawn automatically to your FairSave balance once your plan term is completed. No worries, we got you!

Can I withdraw my fixed deposit early on FairLock?

At the moment, it is not possible to withdraw your FairLock fixed deposit before the term is completed.

How can I view my past plans which are already paid out?

On FairLock Home, tap View Past Plans - this will take you to the Past Plans page, where you can view which plans have been paid out, as well as the details. Just tap on each plan to see the Plan Details Page for each.

Can I add more funds to my existing FairLock fixed deposit?

It is not possible to add more funds to your existing FairLock fixed deposit. If you want to lock more funds, simply create a new FairLock fixed deposit plan.

Can I have multiple fixed deposit plans on my FairLock?

Yes, it is possible to have multiple fixed deposit plans in your FairLock. Just tap on the Create new plan button to create one that suits your needs.

Will I get charged for transfers from my FairMoney account?

You will be getting 30 free transfers per month, after this is exhausted, you will be charged N18 per transfer.

Will I get charged any fees for opening a FairMoney bank account?

No. Opening a FairMoney bank account is free of charge. No hidden fees! You also get to enjoy 30 free transfers.

How do I put money in my FairMoney bank account?

To fund your FairMoney account:
- Log in to the latest version of the FairMoney app. - You will see the ‘Add Money’ button on the upper-left-hand corner of the home screen
- Tap that button
- Select your preferred option to Fund your account by either a bank transfer or a USSD transfer
- For bank transfer, copy your FairMoney bank account number and make a transfer from any bank.
- For the USSD method, you are required to input the amount you would like to fund your account with.
- When this is done, you can dial the USSD code for your bank from the FairMoney app and fund your FairMoney account.

How do I perform withdrawal from my FairMoney bank account?

You can perform a withdrawal from your FairMoney bank account by simply clicking on the Send Money button in the app, input the amount you wish to transfer, and then provide the bank account details you wish to send money to; you will now be prompted to authorise the transfer with your PIN.

How do I see the transactions that have occurred on my FairMoney bank account?

You can access your transactions history via the Transactions tab on your FairMoney app. Click on the Transactions button in your FairMoney app to see all the debit and credit transactions that have occurred on your FairMoney bank account

Can I transfer to other banks using my Fairmoney bank account?

Yes. You can transfer to any bank account in Nigeria directly from your FairMoney app.

How do I know or confirm that my bank transfer is successful?

To confirm the status of a transfer from your FairMoney bank account, you can check the app to see the status of your transfer, whether it is pending, successful, or failed. You will also get notified via SMS, email, and push notification on the app when your transfer is successful.

Why was my transaction blocked?

Your transfer may be temporarily withheld because it exceeds your FairMoney account limit. To unblock your funds and have your account upgraded, please send us any valid Government issued ID and a proof of address. Here is a list of acceptable IDs for your KYC upgrade:
- Voter's card
- Driver's licence
- NIN slip
- For a proof of address, you can provide any document that shows your full name and house address from the list below:
- A one-month bank statement
- Rent Agreement
- Employer Letter
- Insurance Agreement
- Tax Bills
- Admission Letter from Registered School
- Utility bill
It is important to note that the document provided must be in your name and carry your house address

Is there a limit to the transfers I can make with my account/are there transaction limits?

Yes, by default, all FairMoney customers have the following limits:
- A maximum of N200,000 deposit per day
- A maximum of N200,000 bank transfers per day
- A maximum of N500,000 in the account balance

What do I do to upgrade my FairMoney account limit?

To upgrade your account, you need to provide us with a copy of a government-issued ID (like your driver’s licence, national ID card or voter’s card) and any document with your full name and house address as a proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, LAWMA Waste Bill). These documents should be sent to myaccount@fairmoney.ng

Is there a minimum balance for my FairMoney bank account?

There is no minimum balance requirement for your FairMoney bank account.

Will I receive SMS or email alerts for transactions?

Yes, you get Transfer Alerts for Debit and Credit transactions via SMS, email, and Push-Notification on the FairMoney app.

Can I pay before the due date?

Yes, we encourage you to make payment before the due date as this will boost your credit score and give you a chance of getting a higher loan in the future.

Can I extend my SME loan?

No, there is no room for extension.

Can I liquidate my SME loan?

Yes you can. We will give you a discount if you request to liquidate before your due date.

What happens if I fail to pay in time?

Your credit score will be affected and chances of getting a loan in future gets affected. We will not encourage late payment in order not to have your BVN details reported to the Credit bureau.

How can I refer someone to SME loan?

We would love you to share the SME loan idea with loved ones by word of mouth and giving them a chance to benefit from this amazing initiative

How can I get a loan?

Applying for a loan at FairMoney is easy and simple! Please follow the steps below to access a loan with us:

Answer a few questions, and confirm your identity to receive a loan offer. Once you accept the offer, you will receive your loan within 5 minutes.

How much can I borrow and for how long?

FairMoney offers loans of up to N1,000,000 for a period of up to 18 months. The better your lending history and positive behaviour, the more you can access and the longer your repayment period!

Do I need documents or collateral?

No document, no collateral! You will only need to share your BVN details during the loan application and connect your card or bank account to authorise us to debit your account for the repayment.

Can I get another loan immediately?

As soon as your previous loan repayment is confirmed, you can reapply immediately and get another loan in seconds!

How do I activate my Debit Card?

This is the response for users who have not activated the card (First time users). Kindly follow the steps below:
- Log on to your FairMoney App.
- Click on the Cards button.
- Click on the "Forgot your ATM card PIN" button right below the "How to activate my card"
- Proceed to input your FairMoney app pin and your FairMoney debit card pin will be displayed

I have requested for my Debit Card, but it has not been delivered to me

How much will I be charged for the Debit Card request?

You will not be charged for this debit card request, as FairMoney has covered all debit card request costs as a way to appreciate your valued loyalty

I have forgotten my Debit Card Pin, how do I retrieve it?

This is the response for users who have activated the card already, but cannot remember the PIN. Kindly follow the steps below:
- Log on to your FairMoney App.
- Click on the Cards button.
- Select the View your PIN option.
- Proceed to input your FairMoney app pin and your FairMoney debit card pin will be displayed.

How much is the service charge for bill payment?

You don’t pay a service charge when you pay bills with the FairMoney App. All bill payments come with a zero service charge.

What bills can I pay on the FairMoney app?

You can buy electricity tokens, pay for DSTV, buy airtime, data and renew your internet subscription.

Are there any discounts offered?

You get a 3% discount when you buy airtime on the FairMoney App.

Is there a limit on the discount I can get?

No. You get a 3% discount on every airtime you buy from the FairMoney App. The same goes for bill payments like electricity tokens and DSTV. You can pay as many bills as possible without paying a service charge.

How do I make a loan repayment?

Please note that we have two options for self-payment on the app: Debit card connected to the app AND Repayment via your FairMoney Bank.

How do to Repayment via your debit card?

To make payment via debit card connected to the app, please click on "Repay loan" on the homepage, select the amount to repay, and select the card connected to the app to make payment.

How to do Repayment via FairMoney Bank Transfer?

To make payment via transfer to the FairMoney Bank, please click on "Fund Account" on the homepage to confirm your FairMoney Bank account number to make the transfer. After the transfer is made into your FairMoney bank account, it will reflect on the app as a deposit. To repay your loan, all you have to do is click on the Repay loan button, select the FairMoney option to initiate your repayment and your loan will be repaid instantly!

How do I check my loan balance and payment date?

Please log in to the app, you will find your customised dashboard that contains your credit status and/or all the details concerning your current balance.

Can I repay my loan through my FairMoney bank account?

Yes. If you have made a transfer of your loan repayment into your FairMoney Sterling or Wema bank account, please note that this transfer will reflect on your app as a deposit into your FairMoney account. After the transfer has been successfully made to your FairMoney account, you will then receive a notification to login into your app to repay your loan. All you have to do is then click on the Repay Loan button, select the FairMoney account option to initiate your loan repayment via your FairMoney account. Your loan will be repaid instantly!

Can I get a loan top-up?

Yes, to request for a Top-up loan, kindly update your APP to the latest version, click on "Manage loan" on your APP home page. If you are eligible for a Top-up loan, you'll find it displayed for you to apply. If the offer is not available for you at the moment, please note that we're working on making it available for you as soon as possible.

Where will my loan get disbursed?

Your loan will be paid into your FairMoney bank account.

How do I extend my loan?

To extend your loan, kindly log in to your APP and follow the steps highlighted below: Click on the Manage loan icon --- then the 'Extension' button --- Pick your desired days of Extension --- Make Payment as guided by the app. Please note that extending your loan attracts a fee . Also, you are to make payment of the amount stated and requested on the app because an underpayment or overpayment will not activate the extension.

I was debited for a card transaction that was not successful. What do I do now?

You can log your complaint on our customer support channels and we would investigate to ensure resolution.

Can I change my delivery address, as I am currently not available for the delivery?

Kindly reach out to our customer support channels or send an email to cards@fairmoney.ng with your request to change your delivery address.

What is the card delivery duration? How long does it take to deliver my card?

The duration for card delivery is currently 2 weeks

Can the FairMoney debit card be used for International transactions?

Currently, FM cards cannot be used for International transactions. Should there be a change in this, we would inform you.

Can I use my FairMoney debit card to repay my loan?

No, please go ahead to link a different debit card to your account in order to repay your loan.

How much does it cost to get a FairMoney debit card?

Kindly note that the FairMoney debit card is absolutely free, all you need to do is request on the FairMoney app and follow the instructions.

What do I do if my debit card gets lost or stolen?

In this case, kindly log into your FairMoney app, click on the card request icon which will take you to the next page and proceed to block your card.

What do I need to be eligible for a FairMoney debit card?

All you need to do is download the FairMoney app, register and request for the FM card.

What type of card will I get from FairMoney?

The FairMoney card currently issued is MasterCard.

Does FairMoney issue virtual cards?

This is not yet a product of FairMoney but will be added to the existing products in the nearest future.

How many cards can I have at a time?

You can only have one FairMoney card at a time.

Can I cancel my card request?

Kindly note that upon request, the FairMoney card cannot be cancelled until the card has been delivered to you.

How do I unblock my card?

Kindly note that your FairMoney card cannot be unblocked after been blocked, you can only request for a new card as previously done.
